Blue Bird Series In Progress

Blue Bird Series In Progress

I’ve been staying up way too late working on these little pieces.  But they are so small by comparison to most of my work that I feel like I should finish them before going to sleep.

They are in various stages of completion.  The square one with two birds is done except for framing, the one bird with yellow is very close to done, and the one bird that has a pinkish background needs some work (he’s missing his beak at the moment).

These were great fun because they were made from some sumi-e practice paintings that I did.  If you look at the back of all of these you will see the ink strokes.

After these are done I will have to finish the larger pieces, I also have to start and finish some more large pieces.  If I think too hard about it I will stress out.  I have about 30 more days before we hang the show.  I’m starting to feel enslaved by my passion again. . . working at the race track took up much of my spare time and now my artwork is.  Once I’m ready for the show I’m going to slow it down just a little bit.

Enjoy the images!
